Family Directed Resources are local dollars used to support families in providing for unique needs related to qualifying disabilities. The Family Directed Resources program is committed to supporting families to increase their capacity to care for individuals in their home as well as support individuals with disabilities to become more independent in the home and community.
Through the Family Directed Resources program, the Board can provide limited disability-focused financial support to individuals eligible for Board services.

Anyone that is eligible for Morrow County Board of DD services that does NOT receive any other financial support from the Board or state funds, e.g. Individual Options waiver, Level 1 waiver, SELF waiver, foster family stipends, etc.

Family Directed Resource packets will be mailed to the individual’s parent or guardian (or the individual if they are their own guardian) once eligibility has been determined through the age-appropriate assessment required for the individual’s age. Upon receipt of the application forms, an allocation will be awarded and a letter sent indicating the allocation. Individuals or their parent/guardian can then request the FDR funds by calling, emailing or through their SSA.

FDR funds can be for things such as respite care, adaptive equipment, minor home modifications to accommodate the family member with a disability, and other individualized services/items to help meet the family’s needs such as clothing, food, utilities, educational materials.
